The band formed in 2009 in Dunedin with John Sule (guitar -Phil Corfield Band, Koputai Peopleís Party, Doll Drums) Glenda Rogers (vocals, mandolin Sunny Side Up, Pearl Street), Phil Glassey (vocals, guitar), Ruth Wheeler (drums) and Mike Hayward (bass). Their music is influenced by 60ís pop, alternative country/folk and American rockabilly.
Both Sides of the Line perform in and around Dunedin at music venues and street parties.
The band released their first EP, 5, in August, 2012. This was followed by a full-length album, Sideshow in 2013. Their latest album, Party Line! was released in September 2016 and has received favourable reviews from the NZ Musician magazine, the Otago Daily Times and muzic.net.nz.
